Ep36 of Thinking of Art features Chattanooga, Tennessee-based artist and poet, Genesis the Greykid. He caught up with me about the status of the local protests, gave me a tour of his studio, and shared how important it is to listen and grow during this time of change. Genesis also shared his passion for a local charity called ‘Build Me A World’, spoke about his inspiration as a young kid from poems by T.S. Eliot (which cultivated a love of language through words and RAP). Genesis the Greykid has had the honor of working with some incredible people over his career who have helped fuel his love for all things creative.
During his journey, he has worked in the Chattanooga, Tennessee community in various capacities to help others channel whatever they were going through into something creative. This eventually became more of a mentoring role as he started traveling more to pursue his art passion. He has shown in various cities NYC, LA, South Beach Miami, Atlanta, Chattanooga TN, all through his own network of friends and creatives. He has rented out a church or a warehouse, & even a car garage to showcase his artwork. I hope you’ll take time to get to know Genesis’ beautiful art and follow his journey.
