Episode 14: Artist, Marco Lorenzetto

For Ep14 of Thinking of Art, I surprised Marco Lorenzetto in his Hollywood Studio (while keeping a 6 feet distance during our interview, of course!). The 35 year old, Italian-born – LA-based – artist opened up about his life-long passion for art, shared intimate struggles, and gave advice his journey so far.

Precious or monumental in scale, his abstract creations invite the viewer to visually explore the landscape of his canvases allowing their own ideas to emerge through gradual discoveries. Marco collaborates closely with individual collectors and interior architects alike to create commission works. His tête à tête approach with clients although very ancient is a disappearing practice.

Episode 12: Project Angel Food Virtual Art Auction

For Ep12 of Thinking of Art, I welcome Executive Director of Project Angel Food, Richard Ayoub. To help support the efforts of LA’s Project Angel Food, we teamed to help raise money for their COVID-19 Emergency Fund. The following artworks have been donated by these artists: Alexandra Grant, Jwan Yosef, Lia Halloran, Michael Genovese, and Enrique Martinez Celaya. 100% of proceeds from sales of ALL of these works go towards their COVID-19 Emergency Fund. To purchase any of the works, please email Laura at Project Angel Food or simply make a donation, here.

Project Angel Food was created by a group of compassionate volunteers who were concerned about our most fragile community members suffering in silence from malnutrition and the many other ravages of HIV/AIDS. Founded by Marianne Williamson in 1989 as an outreach program of the Los Angeles Center for Living, which helps people with life-threatening illnesses.

All of their meal plans are tailored for each client’s needs and cooked with love using the freshest ingredients to offer the most health benefits. Project Angel Food’s Client Services professionals and Registered Dietitians work as a team to nourish clients so they can survive their illness with dignity and strength. They provide valuable nutrition counseling so clients who go off service can remain healthy and well throughout the rest of their lives.

Episode 11: Photographer Jade Doskow

For Ep11, I welcome architectural and landscape photographer Jade Doskow to Thinking of Art. After receiving her MFA from The School of Visual of Art in 2008, she has been documenting the sites of past World’s Fairs around the world. ‘Lost Utopias’, a decade-long photography project, captures the remaining architecture, art, and landscaping of international world’s fairs.

In 2016, her book ‘Lost Utopias’ was listed by American Photo as one of the top photo books of the year. Doskow was one of the 50 women artists featured in the 2018 October book publication 50 Contemporary Women Artists: Groundbreaking Art from 1960 to present.

She is on facility at SUNY and The International Center of Photography. Doskow’s photography has been featured and sold worldwide. Tune in to hear some incredible stories about her journey to document some of the most signifiant structures of architecture in the last 100 years! For sales inquires, contact Kipton.
